Protect & Preserve Round
The Objective
I was commissioned by a high-profile Louisiana-based client to completely reimagine the visual identity of the "Protect and Preserve" commemorative round. The goal was to create a prestigious political heirloom that balanced historical Revolutionary-era iconography—the drummer boy and the soaring eagle—with the high-stakes technical requirements of investment-grade bullion.

The Strategy & Process
This project was a five-month masterclass in long-term production management and strategic iteration, lasting from July 2025 to November 2025 in order to launch the product by January 2026. Serving as the central creative pivot between the client, senior leadership, and specialized manufacturing teams, I managed the following:

-
Iterative Visual Reimagining: I redesigned the conceptual layout, refining the typography, assay placement, and iconography to achieve a cohesive "state-of-the-union" aesthetic. During this phase, I utilized active listening and rapid prototyping to provide the client with multiple phrasing and layout options, ensuring the final message was exactly as intended.

-
High-Stakes Collaboration: I navigated complex feedback loops from both the client and internal "higher-ups," treating criticism as a creative catalyst to perfect the design. I successfully balanced these stakeholder expectations with the rigorous technical demands of the minting process.

-
Production Liaison: I collaborated with master sculptors over a two-month period to ensure 2D designs translated into flawless 3D relief. I also worked directly with the die-making and color-printing teams to ensure the intricate details of the drummer boy’s uniform and the eagle’s plumage met archival standards.

-
Bespoke Final Production: The project culminated in a limited run of 1,000 .999 silver rounds and a single, bespoke .999 gold strike destined for President Donald Trump, alluding at 45 and 47 in comparison to the years next to the eagle and donkey.

The Result
I closed the production loop by capturing and meticulously refining the final product photography. This project stands as a testament to my ability to manage high-profile client relationships, adapt to complex feedback, and lead a multi-departmental workflow from initial concept to a "Presidential" finish.
